You may ask, what is the solution? The best way would be teleportation, but it’s impossible (as far as I know). In winter we don’t have too much choice. Public transport or car is the only way, but it’s different in the rest of the year. Finally we have got motorcycles/scooters. It’s very efficient and there is no faster way to get to work or school. Many people choose motorbikes to reduce wasted time spend in cars waiting to get through traffic jams. It simply reduces this time by half!

As in a real life, things aren’t so simple. It’s probably less safer than a car. In the accidents there is no metal structure or airbags to save motorcyclists. Only save equipment is a helmet and some protectors used in clothes. Thanks to that they are saver and drive more focused. You probably think that speed is the cause of deadly accidents, but it’s not entirely true. The main cause of accidents are other rode users’ mistakes like changing the line without looking into the mirrors or starting driving just in front of a motorbike. Of course bikers aren’t angels. They drive a little bit faster and close to the cars in traffic jams.
The real image of a motorcyclist is not the same than the society thinks. I can bet that people who are not familiar with the subject think that but it is a bad example. This rider is a black sheep and a complete idiot:

So why do people drive motorcycles if it’s so dangerous and not always pleasant?
It’s really hard to answer or describe it. When you try it you just fall in love. I don’t want to add a philosophy but it gives unusual sense of pleasure and a bit more freedom and a lot of satisfaction. Some say that a five minutes ride on a motorbike can be more exiting than anything else through the whole life.

ReplyDeleteI had an accident with a motorcycle in front of our university. I was slowly leaving the sidewalk and didn't notice the approaching motorcycle, whose light probably merged with the car, which was at the beginning of Koszykowa Street. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist did not have time to slow down and flew over my hood. Fortunately, he only broke a finger, but I would not recommend to anyone such an adventure.

This kind of transport is undoubtedly the fastest. But also the most dangerous. Every year hundreds of motorcyclists die in accidents. Very often it isn't their fault but usually their are a victim. Especially in Poland this way of transport is very dangerous. It is because of our roads. Hole after hole. We have fatal roads and this is the biggest problem to make this way of transport safety.

I agree that's fast but the most dangerous. Everyone of my friends which ride motorcycle had and accident. Some of them lighter, some of them serious. Riding motorcycle in Poland is hazardous experience. Maybe in few years when roads gonna be better and if polish drivers earn some road culture I'll buy motorcycle for myself.

ReplyDeleteI love fast ride on bicycle, but when I go between people in a small space this is dangerous. I like motorcycles but for my safety I don't want it. This type of vehicle is very fast (over 200km/h) and has low traction and in my opinion it's the most dangerous vehicle!
ReplyDeleteI love to watch motorbikes movies in which some guys ride 200km per hour on one wheel... or when they takeover some car between other car where there is such few space. But I have never ride a bike and I am not going to. I think with motorbikes is like with drugs, if you try them, you won't stop. And of course it is extremely dangerous. You can ride so carefully, but very often accidents are not your fault.
ReplyDeleteI live in a quiet suburbs surrounded by nice forest... it would be a really peaceful place if there was no so many people on noisy motocycles - mostly brainless, rich teenagers around. That makes me really critical about this hobby.

I had a couple of years ago, motorcycle, and I think that the Polish roads are dangerous. Our roads are not prepared for motorcycles. Once I had an accident with a car, do not happen to me but I do not think car drivers. I like motorcycles a street, not big but powerful machine with an interesting design
ReplyDeleteMotorcycles are not a safe type of transport. The condition of the Polish roads is bad and it does not ensure safe traveling. Therefore, motorcycles become even more dangerous in our surroundings. A good motorcyclist should have the ability to concentrate for long and react quickly, moreover, it is important to stay calm in dangerous situations so that one can still react in a reasonable way and avoid panic.

It is dangerous not because of something we are in danger from but because of irresponsible people driving them. men often think that driving fast will give them a lot of adrenaline - and indeed this is so. But forget that the ride can also cause many problems such as disability or a death. Unfortunately, too bravado driving often leads to serious accidents and motorcycle collision with a car - unfortunately motor driver applies more damage
